Alkaline River Water Threatens Drinking Supply in Shiyang Basin
The study looked at the water quality in the middle and lower parts of the Shiyang River Basin. By analyzing data from three monitoring stations over a year, researchers found that the water in the downstream river meets drinking water health standards, while the water in the middle area does not. The water in the river is more alkaline and mineralized, with high levels of HCO3-, SO42-, and Ca2+. Overall, the water quality in the area is good, but improvements are needed in the middle section to meet the standards.
