Clean water breakthrough: Ultrafiltration-coagulation combo purifies Taihu Lake water effectively!
Researchers conducted an experiment using a combination of coagulation and ultrafiltration to treat drinking water from Taihu Lake. They found that adding coagulant reduced pollution on the membrane surface, and backwashing helped maintain pressure levels. Regular chemical cleaning effectively removed pollutants from the membrane. After long-term use, the membrane remained intact. The treatment process achieved high removal rates for turbidity, organic carbon, UV absorbance, and iron. The quality of the filtered water met drinking water standards.
