A new type of rice called Yuejingsimiao was created by scientists to have good quality and be highly resistant to a disease called rice blast. This rice variety has high and consistent yields, can grow in many different conditions, and is great for making high-quality rice products. It was officially released in May 2006 in Guangdong province and is expected to be widely used in the future.
