Urban Runoff Pollutes Cities, Threatens Public Health and Environment
The study looked at how rainwater flows over city streets and picks up pollutants. They tested water from 3 rainstorms in Xinxiang city in 2010. Results showed that the amount of runoff from streets was high, with pollution levels decreasing over time. The water quality indicators varied in a specific order, with COD and SS having a strong relationship. Overall, the study found that pollution in urban runoff is a concern, but it changes over time and can be managed.
