Unsafe Drinking Water Threatens Health of Nearly Half of Rural Population in Yingtan City.
The researchers investigated the health and safety of rural drinking water in Yingtan City. They found that 45.77% of the rural population had unsafe drinking water, with the main issue being high levels of total coliform bacteria. The water quality inspection showed high rates of unqualified water due to total coliform, pH, colony total, naked eye obvious, and turbidity. Additionally, the water source was not guaranteed in 31.87% of cases. The study concludes that improvements are needed in water purification and disinfection to ensure the safety of villagers' drinking water.
