A new rice restorer line called T914 was created by crossing two other lines, T986 and T28. T914 has strong restoring abilities and produces hybrids with good disease resistance and high pollen load. One of the hybrids, Xieyou 914, was approved for commercial production in Zhejiang Province in 1997.
