The flood control capacity of Datengxia Reservoir was studied to reduce flood frequency in certain areas. By analyzing the reservoir's flood control storage, researchers found that it can effectively reach its flood control target. This means that floods in Guiping, Pingnan, and Tengxian counties can be reduced significantly, with some areas seeing a complete reduction in flood frequency.
