Climate change in Shihezi region: temperatures rising, winds slowing, aridity decreasing.
A study analyzed 48 years of climate data in Shihezi region. The researchers found that temperatures, precipitation, and sunshine hours are increasing, while wind speed is decreasing. Potential evapotranspiration is positively correlated with wind speed and sunshine hours, negatively correlated with rainfall, and decreasing overall. There were abrupt changes in temperature, precipitation, wind speed, evapotranspiration, and aridity index in certain years. The different climate elements show cyclical changes over specific periods.
