Tianjin's ecological footprint exceeds natural capacity, unsustainable development threatens environment.
The study looked at how Tianjin city's development impacted its environment using ecological footprint analysis. They calculated that each person's ecological footprint in Tianjin increased slightly from 1989 to 2008. Even though the population used fewer natural resources, the ecological footprint still surpassed what the environment could handle. This means that the current way of development in Tianjin is not sustainable, and the environment is at risk.
