Optimizing Plant Density and Nitrogen Boosts Spring Maize Yield Dramatically.
The study looked at how different plant densities and nitrogen fertilizer levels affect the growth and yield of spring maize in Heilongjiang province. They found that increasing plant density led to higher leaf area index (LAI) and yield. Additionally, increasing nitrogen fertilizer levels also increased LAI and yield, with the highest yield achieved at a planting density of 90,000 plants per hectare and a nitrogen fertilizer level of 225 kg per hectare.
