The study analyzed economic growth in Jiangsu Province from 1978 to 2008. They found that while overall technology efficiency did not improve, technological progress boosted total-factor productivity (TFP) until 2000. However, TFP declined after 2000 due to slower technical progress. Productivity growth varied across regions, with South Jiangsu showing the highest annual growth at 5.2%, followed by the middle of Jiangsu at 1.2%, and North Jiangsu at -0.04%.
