The custom of "Huizang" in Gaogouli did not exist before the king made Pyongyang the capital. The tradition was for kings to be buried near the capital, not far away. Even though some elites were buried in the Tang dynasty, it was following Tang burial customs, not an old Gaogouli tradition.
