New Study Reveals Most Rice Varieties Susceptible to Devastating Rice-blast Disease
The study evaluated the resistance of 50 rice varieties to rice-blast disease in Hunan. They found that none of the varieties were highly resistant, with most being susceptible or highly susceptible. Varieties named Jinyou were particularly susceptible. Early rice varieties showed the highest resistance frequency. The researchers discussed suitable areas for growing different resistance levels of rice varieties to help guide rice production.
