Fungi's Superpowers Could Revolutionize Waste Management and Environmental Cleanup
Wood-rot fungi were studied for their laccase activities. The highest laccase activity was found in Pleurotus lignetilis, followed by Trametes trogii and Corilus versicolar. Different pH levels and ions affected laccase activities, with Pleurotus lignetilis showing optimal activity at pH 4.6. Copper, magnesium, sodium, and cobalt increased laccase activities, while silver, potassium, calcium, mercury, iron, chloride, and zinc inhibited it.
