Chengdu's Waterways Choked by Severe Pollution, Threatening Residents' Health
Water quality surveys in Chengdu revealed severe pollution and eutrophication in rivers, lakes, and urban water bodies. The study aimed to assess the water quality in different areas of Chengdu to guide future environmental restoration efforts. The researchers used a method called the integrated nutrition state index to evaluate the eutrophication status. Results showed that rivers and cultural water bodies in Chengdu are severely eutrophic, while urban water bodies are nearing moderate eutrophication levels.
