The study looked at rainfall changes in the Heihe River Basin over 50 years. They found that more rain fell in the mountains than in the plains, and overall rainfall increased, especially in the mountains. The rain patterns shifted southwest, more so in the mountains. Light rain decreased, while heavy rain increased in the area.
