Boosting nitrogen levels leads to higher quality, richer aroma tobacco leaves.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen affected the growth, quality, and yield of dark sun-cured tobacco. They found that increasing nitrogen levels up to 150 kg/ha led to taller plants, more leaves, higher nutrient content, and better quality tobacco. The cured leaves had more nicotine, protein, and better aroma at the highest nitrogen level, but less sugar.
