New study reveals plants' superpowers to thrive in harsh environments!
The researchers studied plant communities in the middle reaches of the Tarim River in China. They used TWINSPAN and CCA methods to classify the vegetation and analyze its relationship with environmental factors. The study identified 15 groups of plant communities belonging to 4 vegetation type groups. The analysis showed that certain plant species can endure high levels of salt, drought, and alkali stress. The results of the classification and ordination methods were consistent, highlighting the resilience of different plant communities to environmental conditions in the region.
