Urban river ecosystem services valued at 195-253 Yen per person yearly.
The study looked at how much people are willing to pay for the benefits provided by an urban river in Shanghai. They used a method called contingent valuation to ask 800 people about their willingness to pay. The average amount people were willing to pay per year for the next three years was between 195.07 and 253.04 Yen. They also found that people's income, education level, donation experience, and environmental attitude influenced how much they were willing to pay. The study discussed biases that could affect the results and suggested ways to address them. Overall, the study showed that people value the ecosystem services of the urban river and are willing to pay for them.
