Grouting reinforcement slashes coal mining accidents, doubles production rate.
The researchers developed a method to reinforce coal mining faces with thin base rock roofs and brittle coal walls to prevent spalling and roof falls. By observing a specific coal mining face, they calculated the maximum distance grout could spread in the coal wall. They optimized the layout of grouting boreholes and conducted grouting in spalling and broken areas. The results showed a significant reduction in coal wall spalling and roof falls, leading to an increase in the coal mining face's advancement rate.
