Urban landscapes are crucial for human culture and are growing due to urbanization. The study of urban landscape ecology focuses on patterns, land use changes, ecological recovery, dynamic changes, and biodiversity. Current research shows gaps in understanding the driving forces of urban landscape changes, evaluating ecological structures, designing landscape patterns, and managing urban development. These gaps need to be addressed for future progress in urban landscape ecology.
