The study looked at how changing the amount of recirculated leachate in landfill simulations affects water quality. By recirculating some of the leachate, the pH levels stayed more stable and the accumulation of harmful substances like NH4+-N was reduced. The researchers found that using 70% recirculation improved the quality of the leachate more than using 50%.
