A pilot experiment showed that the SBR process effectively treated synthetic pharmaceutics wastewater. The treated water had low levels of pollutants like COD, NH3-N, and phenol, meeting national discharge standards after additional treatment. Mixing and aerating processes were found to impact COD removal rates.
