Spring vs. Autumn: Zooplankton Population Shifts Impact Poyang Lake Ecosystem
In 1999, researchers studied zooplankton in Poyang Lake during spring and autumn. They found 150 different species, with rotifers being the most common. The numbers of rotifers and cladocera were higher in spring, while protozoan and copepoda were more abundant in autumn. The quantities of zooplankton varied between seasons, with rotifers showing the most significant changes. The highest number of zooplankton was found in station No.13, with 1101.60 individuals per liter.
