The researchers tested different chemicals to clean dirty water at low temperatures. They found that a chemical called compound aluminum iron (PAFC) worked best, removing almost 93% of dirt, 83% of color, and 42% of organic matter. Mixing PAFC with another chemical called polyacrylamide (PAM) made the cleaning even better.
