Straw Mulching Boosts Crop Yields and Soil Water Storage Capacity!
Straw mulching can help soil hold more water and increase crop yields. A study compared fields with straw mulch to those without it. The soil in mulched fields stored 2.16%-13.62% more water during corn season and 0.95%-4.50% more during wheat season. Mulched fields had more corn and wheat, with yields increasing by 9.39% and 11.70% respectively. Straw mulching can boost soil water storage, improve crop yields, and enhance overall production.
