Climate change intensifies extreme dry and wet events in Wei River Basin.
The study looked at climate changes in the Wei River Basin over 52 years. They used weather data to analyze temperature, precipitation, and extreme dry and wet events. The results showed that temperatures increased, especially in certain areas like Ziwu Mountain. Precipitation decreased slightly, with the most significant drop in central Shaanxi and eastern Gansu. The region became drier overall, with the driest conditions in loess hilly areas. Extreme dry events increased, especially in the 1990s, while extreme wet events decreased. The climate fluctuated between wet and dry periods since the 1960s.
