Different levels of nitrogen fertilizer were tested on traditional and introduced rice varieties in Yuanyang terrace. The traditional variety showed decreased yield and rice blast with higher nitrogen input, while the introduced variety had increased yield with more nitrogen. Treatment 2 (organic fertilizer only) had the highest yield for the traditional variety, while treatment 4 (organic fertilizer + high nitrogen) had the highest yield for the introduced variety. Nitrogen utilization efficiency improved with higher nitrogen input.
