Microwave treatment slashes pharmaceutical wastewater pollution by 90%!
High concentration pharmaceutical wastewater was successfully treated using a microwave-assisted Fenton oxidation process. By adjusting factors like pH, hydrogen peroxide and iron sulfate dosages, microwave power, and reaction time, researchers achieved a high removal rate of 89.7% for chemical oxygen demand in just 7 minutes. The degradation process followed a first-order reaction kinetics model, with a half-life of 2.60 minutes.
