Yellow River Estuary Water Flow Extends North, Affects Sediment Transport.
The researchers studied water flow and sediment movement in the Yellow River Estuary during a specific time in 2012. They found that during this period, the diluted water from the river mixed with sea water and spread north, east, and south. Suspended sediment played a big role in sediment transport, with rapid deposition near the shore due to tidal forces. Areas with high sediment concentration were mainly along the coast and in the southern part of the estuary, while diluted water spread to the northwest.
