New soybean variety "Guichun No.6" boosts protein content for healthier diets.
A new soybean variety called Guichun No.6 was created by crossing two different soybean plants. This new variety has high protein content and is resistant to many diseases. It also produces a high yield of good quality beans and is strong enough to resist bending. After testing in many fields, Guichun No.6 had an average yield of 2285kg per hectare, with grain containing 46.06% protein and 19.17% fat. This new soybean variety was officially certified and registered in 2005.
