Newly Discovered Bacteria Boost Crop Growth and Soil Health
The researchers isolated and identified phosphate-solubilizing bacteria from different sources to study their biological characteristics. They found that strains from certain bacterial fertilizers had strong phosphate-solubilizing abilities, with the best strain coming from Feitiansheng fertilizer. These bacteria formed transparent circles in low-phosphate mediums but not in high-phosphate ones. Interestingly, a strain isolated from organic phosphate also showed phosphate-solubilizing abilities in inorganic mediums. The study suggests that the mechanisms of organic and inorganic phosphate bacteria are connected in some ways.
