New peanut variety Yueyou 45 outyields control cultivar by 6.54%!
A new peanut variety called Yueyou 45 was developed by Crops Research Institute/GAAS through a breeding process involving multiple crosses. This variety showed higher yield compared to the control cultivar Shanyou 523 in a national trial. Yueyou 45 is resistant to bacterial wilt and was officially approved for cultivation in 2010. To grow this variety successfully, farmers should sow seeds earlier, use additional fertilizers, and take measures to prevent drought.
