Soil erosion threatens survival in mountain forests, urgent action needed.
Soil erosion is a big problem in dry valleys, affecting the environment and human survival. A study looked at erosion rates and soil properties in the upper Minjiang River area. They found that Robinia pseudoacacia trees had the most erosion, while Minjiang cypress had less. Soil erosion was linked to the structure of the soil. The soil had more sand and coarse silt than fine silt and clay. Organic matter in the soil was around 45.73g/kg. Erosion rates were connected to organic matter, soil structure, and soil stability. Protecting shrubs and forests, reducing human impact, and letting nature recover can help build up soil and prevent further erosion. This study helps us understand soil erosion and how to protect the environment better.
