Researchers successfully developed four rice restorer lines using a method called recurrent selection. These lines showed stable agronomic traits and good restoring ability. When crossed with other lines, the resulting hybrids had high grain yield. This method could lead to the commercial production of high-yielding hybrid rice in cold regions of China.
