Moso Bamboo Plantations Boost Soil Health and Carbon Sequestration Levels
The study analyzed soil carbon and microbial biomass in a bamboo plantation. Results showed that soil carbon and microbial biomass varied across different soil layers. Soil carbon was highest in the top 20cm layer, while microbial biomass was highest in the same layer. Microbial biomass increased from January to July and decreased from August to December. Overall, different soil layers in the bamboo plantation had similar abilities to store soil carbon.
