A new hybrid rice called Guyou 16 was created by crossing two different rice plants. This new rice variety has a good plant shape, strong growth, and can resist a disease called rice blast. It also produces a high yield and has good quality. Guyou 16 was approved by the Agricultural Crop Varieties Committee of Fujian Province in 2010.
