Rural Hubei Drowning in Toxic Pollution, Threatening Livelihoods and Health
In rural areas of Hubei Province, a significant amount of pollution is being discharged, with more pollutants coming from rural places than from industries in the entire province. Each square kilometer of land in Hubei has to deal with high levels of pollution, including 334 kg of NH3-H, 1,131 kg of COD, 1,011 kg of TN, and 175 kg of TP. The main types of pollution in rural Hubei are fishery pollution, animal cultivation pollution, and living pollution.
