Urban Runoff Pollutes Waterways, Threatens Public Health and Environment
The study focused on pollution in an urban area. Using a model called SWMM, researchers combined data from past studies and field tests to create a pollution calibration model. They looked at different rainfall scenarios to see how pollution levels changed over time. The results showed that the model accurately predicted pollution levels, with errors less than 10%. They found that heavy rain led to higher pollution levels in water bodies compared to light rain.
