The article discusses how aesthetics in China is making a comeback after being overshadowed by cultural studies. It suggests that aesthetics should learn from cultural studies but also move beyond it. By incorporating aesthetic evaluation and returning to Marxist principles, aesthetics can become a critical philosophy of art that addresses social development and current artistic trends.
