China's Commercial Banks Moving Towards More Competitive Market Structure.
The study looked at data from 14 commercial banks in China from 1999 to 2008 to see how concentrated the market is. The results showed that the market is still pretty concentrated, with the banks mostly in an oligopoly structure. However, the overall monopoly intensity is decreasing, and the banks are becoming more competitive. This means that China's banking market is moving towards more competition and less concentration over time.
