Water quality assessment model reveals widespread pollution in rural areas
The study aimed to develop a method to assess water quality in rural areas, focusing on both individual samples and overall regional quality. They tested well water from 88 households in a polluted area and 10 in a clean area, using 15 different indicators to measure pollution levels. Results showed that three samples in the polluted area were moderately polluted, eight were severely polluted, and the overall regional water quality was moderately polluted. This suggests that the well water in the polluted area is contaminated, and the assessment model can be used to evaluate water quality in rural areas.
