Dwindling Water Supplies Threaten Inner Mongolia's Fragile Ecosystem
The study analyzed pan evaporation in Inner Mongolia's Yellow River Basin from 1959 to 2008. They found that overall, the average annual and seasonal pan evaporation decreased. However, the evaporation patterns varied among the 26 weather stations, with fluctuations in spring and summer. Different regions showed different impacts from meteorological elements on pan evaporation, challenging the idea of a universal pan evaporation paradox.
