Xiong Shili's philosophy is based on the ancient text Zhou Yi. This text influenced his views on cosmology, ontology, methodology, and theory of mind. Zhou Yi helped Xiong Shili transition to modern thinking, but some aspects of modernity may limit the liveliness of his philosophy. A contemporary perspective is needed to fully appreciate his ideas.
