Natural erosion decreasing in abandoned river delta, human impact evident.
The researchers used satellite data to study how the coastline in the abandoned Huanghe River Delta in Northern Jiangsu Province changed over time. They found that erosion along the coast is decreasing overall, but still happening, especially near the abandoned Huanghe River mouth. Human activities might be contributing to the erosion, but in general, the coast is experiencing slow erosion, erosion, and a balance between erosion and land buildup.
