Coastal cities face major land use changes due to population growth.
Land use change in Qingdao City was studied to understand the factors driving these changes. By analyzing satellite images and socio-economic data, researchers found that factors like elevation, relief amplitude, distance from the coast, and population density influenced land use conversion types. They also discovered that factors like distance from urban areas, road network density, and GDP played a role in shaping land use changes in the city.
