Genetic Variants Linked to Increased Risk of Lung Cancer.
The study looked at how certain genetic variations in the CYP1A1 gene can affect the risk of developing lung cancer. By analyzing the Msp1 and Ile/Val genotypes in individuals with lung cancer and controls, the researchers found that having genotype C or Val/Val genotype increased the risk of lung cancer. Specifically, individuals with genotype C were 1.85 times more likely to develop lung cancer, while those with Val/Val genotype were 3.3 times more likely. People with both genotype C and Val/Val genotype were even more susceptible to lung cancer. This suggests that these genetic variations may play a role in increasing the risk of developing lung cancer.
