Ebinur Lake faces rapid evaporation, urgent need for water management.
The researchers studied evaporation from Ebinur Lake to help decide the best water level. They used data from two weather stations to calculate evaporation below 195 meters. Evaporation peaked in July at 1064.1 mm and decreased in September. Most evaporation happened from May to August, causing the lake to dry up quickly. To keep the lake balanced, more water should flow in starting in April.
