Water resources model revolutionizes management in Yangtze River Basin.
The water resources management system for the Yangtze River Basin uses a model to allocate water effectively. It includes four parts: information management, allocation, control, and pollution simulation. The system has been tested in the Hanjiang River Basin. The model for the Hanjiang River Basin focuses on theory, procedures, and methods. A similar model is proposed for the area above the Three Gorges. Challenges in the Hanjiang River Basin model are identified, and future research directions are suggested.
