The study looked at how different ways of growing early rice affect the number of tillers and panicles. They found that tillers from the 4th, 5th, and 6th leaf positions were the most important. Machine-transplanted rice had the biggest panicles, contributing the most to yield. Hand-transplanted rice had the highest yield contribution overall.
